Meeting Notes
The Machine Knitters of Pensacola, Florida met at the Milton Library February 3, 2007, with Martha Lyle, Von deLoach, Karen Hughes, Susan Spencer, Jean Neal, Sonia Carr, Barbara Meloy, Bob & Frances Roswold, and Dianne Bayless in attendance.
Carol Seeback of Delaware visted for the day, and brought several sweaters for show-and-tell. She has family in the area, and we hope to see her again soon!
Barbara Meloy presented a demonstration of several different buttonholes, and brought samples of buttonholes made on her sewing machine which she says are her favorite. See Barbara's Buttonhole Techniques for an overview.
Sonia Carr and Ann Odom have offered to fill two of the holes in our 2007 schedule. Sonia will be demonstrating pants, and Ann will be demonstrating zippers. We still don't have a program set for May, so if you have any ideas, please let me know!
March's meeting is March 3, 10:00 a.m. at the Milton library. This will be a hands-on cut-and-sew class. Please bring the following: 2 8" X 8" squares, steamed flat; one 12" wide, 1" long band; one 12" long X 2" length band with a fold line. No need to steam the bands - please use closed cast-on and either waste yarn or garter bar instead of bind-off. Also bring extra yarn and waste yarn, and a 3X1 transfer tool.
HAPPY KNITTING!
