Meeting Notes
The Machine Knitters of Pensacola, Florida met at the Milton Library January 6, 2007, with Jean Neal, Dianne Bayless, Martha Lyle, Von deLoach, Susan Spencer, and Bob and Frankie Roswald in attendance.
Paige Petty joined us for the first time. Paige has recently acquired a Bond knitting machine, and she brought a portable yarn-winder setup. The video I took didn't turn out well, so I'll be asking her to bring it again!
Von deLoach demonstrated knitting elastics into your knits. She used "lingerie elastic," which has loops on one side. Knit to where you need the elastic, hand the loops directly onto the needles of the knitting machine and knit slowly across. See the pictures below for how this works.
We still have three meetings with no program in 2007 - if you have something you'd like to demonstrate, please let me know and I'll schedule you for May, September or November.
February's meeting is February 3, 2007 at the Milton Library at 10:00 a.m. Barbara will be demonstrating buttonholes.
HAPPY KNITTING!
