Meeting Notes

The Machine Knitters of Pensacola, Florida met at the Milton Library March, 2006, with six in attendance.

Jean Herron of Canada visited for the day, and we hope to see her again.

Barbara Meloystopped by on her way to teach Machine Knitting at the John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina

Flat Stanley of Savannah also came for the day. You can read about Flat Stanley here. He's a little disappointed to find that we can't take him to Europe this time of year, but living in our area is a vacation all year round!

Von brought her poncho pattern for midgauge/bulky machines that was our project for the day. Susan and Dianne knitting using Bond USMs and Sonia used her new-to-her LK-150. Thanks for the help Von!

Checking Von's two USMs, we found that of three carriages, only one was in fighting condition! We hope that Bond USA takes a note of the problems and fixes them soon.

April's meeting is the 22nd from 10-1 at the Milton Library.  Pam will be leading us in an exploration of short-rowing, and we'll be joined by a visiting knitter with a circular sock machine

Sandee Cherry is contemplating a seminar in Destin, but if she doesn't get enough response, her nearest seminar will be in Orlando. If you haven't already, please go to her site and express your interest at http://sandeeskwikknit.com/seminar.html.

News & Views is back! Linda Williams of Country Knitting of Maine now owns the rights to Alles Hutchisons publications, and will be bringing us "Country Knitting News & Views." Subscriptions are $22.99 for six issues. If you're interested, e-mail her at oth98@hotmail.com
