Meeting Notes
The Machine Knitters of Pensacola, Florida met September 26, 2009 with Susan Spencer, Barbara Meloy, Karen Hughes, Jean Neal, Pat Lawson, Paige Petty, and Dianne Bayless in attendance.
Pat Lawson and Dianne Bayless brought machines to clean. Ann wasn't able to be with us for most of the day, but we cleaned the machine that we usually use for demonstrations!
Ann uses lamp oil to clean needles, so we started using that. It seemed to do a great job, and was oily, so that we skipped the step of oiling the hinges on the needles before replacing them in the machines. Still, we ran out and Karen left the meeting and returned with denatured alcohol, which is what is usually used to clean the needles.
Hazel Peterson joined us for the day, with a machine of her own that she's been using and talk of several others that she is interested in. We sure hope we see more of her! Both she and Dianne were surprised at how the carraige feels when run across a newly clean and oiled machine.
Dianne Bayless has had both hand and machine knitting work on display at the Navarre Public library for the month of September. Scroll down for the pictures. You go, Dianne!
Our next meeting will be at Ann's house October 31-November 1. This is our annual knit in for the Ronald McDonald House. Bring machines and knit all day, both days. Bring a bag lunch Friday, and eat lunch out Saturday. Hope to see you all there!
HAPPY KNITTING!
